Hi Folks,
just letting y'all know I'm still alive, and still
have music in my veins. It's been a very intense
semester - I've finally, after 2 1/2 years of jumping
through hoops, started Law studies at Monash
University. Studying law is harder than I anticipated,
mostly because of the reading load and the sheer
volume of information to get your head around. But
happily, it's also more interesting than I'd feared.
Contracts sounds dead boring, but actually, case law
is made up of hundreds of stories, and you only study
the wierd ones because they're the ones that threw up
thorny issues for the law to solve. Some of it's quite
hilarious. Yes, that's right, people, I'm telling you
that studying law is funny. Well, sometimes.
Anyhoo - I've got some gigs up there on the upcoming
long weekend, and I'd love to see yuz all - espesh for
my mountain and Hawkesbury/Hunter fans - been a long
time since I got to your neck of the woods. I have a
new cd out that many of you won't have come across
yet.
Also - I'm going AWOL from uni for a semester. All the
fiddling about to get into law means that if I'd just done an arts degree, I'd
be nearly finished by now. So I've decided to do at least a temporary runner -
especially since my mum is doing better right now following surgery that
restored 60% of her sight last year. Totally Gourdgeous have a fabulous tour of
Europe coming up, and I'm going on from there to Canada, and possibly the US.
Also hopeful of getting a little something going in NZ in the New Year.
lotsa love, Penelope
